Covers the code with good explanations and drawings. The best book available on the topic.
I've used the handbook version of the NEC on more than one occasion to correct an electrician as well as electrical inspectors. As a general contractor, I need to keep up on all the codes, electrical included. I believe it's a must have if you are in the building trade to have in your library. This book, while more expensive than the regular NEC 2008 code book provides narrative to explain the intent of a particular code item and also provides many color pictures to better clarify the code item. I find it very useful since if you have ever read a code book, they are not the most clearly written books out there. Not so much if you are a homeowner trying to do your own electrical work. There are "How To" books out there to assist you with you electrical projects.
The NEC Code Handbook in not a novel or product to compare with others. Buying from Amazon provided a substantial discount over other souces. What I can compare is price. I could not find this handbook for a cheeper price on-line anywhere. If you are in the electrical business(engineering, installation, etc). this handbook is a must for understanding the NEC Code.
This book is the most complete manual I have seen.Has plenty of diagrams and is easy to understand.Deryl Houser
